Driven by existing client demand, this is a newly created Senior Event Management role that will see you heading up the full-service events division of this market leading company who provide venue finding & venue booking software solutions to a host of top corporate & professional services clients.
As the company has grown their clients are asking them to provide more than just the venue finding service and as such they are now looking to expand their offering to include event planning & management and are seeking a talented Senior Event professional to head up & build this new division. The Senior Event Manager will be the first person to join what will become a growing Event Management team who will support clients in putting the whole event together. This person will also help develop the Event knowledge of the Account Management team (all specialists in venue finding software but in need of a more holistic view of events to enable them to speak with authority when talking to clients).
This is an exciting mixed role of hands-on event planning & delivery as well as setting up and developing this new arm to the business, working with clients, building relationships with suppliers, advising internal stakeholders and putting this new service on the map so to speak. Lots to do at the beginning but without doubt a fantastic role which can be shaped by this new post holder to a certain extent.
You’ll be a dynamic and highly motivated individual with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in event management (planning & delivery) and the knowledge of what it takes to build and expand an events’ offering and events team. Open to background – you could have worked agency-side or in-house for a corporate working with a lot of internal clients – but what it important, is that you have experience of working with senior stakeholders within large corporate & professional services companies.
You must be used to a face paced client servicing focused environment, have amazing attention to detail, be able to juggle multiple projects at any one time and at the outset be the hands-on delivery person until the new division is fully up and running and further developed (NB you will be only events person at the very beginning).
You’ll already have a broad and varied skill set of end2end event management (including delivery). advising clients, creating bespoke events proposals, building & growing supplier relationships (AV, caterers, florists etc..), negotiation, Thought Leadership & developing internal knowledge of event management across the business, cross-team liaison, establishing processes & systems and stakeholder management (financial services, global corporates, professional services-based clients) as well as the energy, enthusiasm and knowledge to drive forward a new division/company offering.
