Description

Exciting content-focused role at this dynamic and highly regarded membership body operating at the heart of the Financial sector.  Working alongside sector experts you’ll be the main facilitator and collaborator driving forward the ideas, content, shape and agendas of their sector leading events programme – ensuring it is not only  ‘of the moment’ but ahead of it too!

Working in the Commercial Delivery team, and at the heart of their talented events team, you’ll work consultatively with the policy team and inhouse sector experts, and be responsible for driving a series of programmes across their Commercial Delivery portfolio – driving forward content, and innovative formats will be your remit. The role would suit an experienced conference producer, with an analytical mind, attention to detail and a genuine interest in financial services - this is a great opportunity to join a fast-moving team and make an impact.

Organisation:
This is a very well established and highly regarded Body in the banking and finance industry, representing leading banks and firms across the sector.  Their inhouse team of c. 250 offer research, policy expertise, thought leadership and advocacy in support of their members work. And they are recognized for their brilliantly executed and dynamic events programme in both terms of content and experience.  The nature of their sector means topics and agendas can be fast moving and are always dynamic – and their events programme is designed to match.

The Role
Reporting in to and working closely with the Head of Events, your focus will be forward looking development of their conference/events programme – working with the policy team to investigate and digest their ideas and translate these into commercially successful and exciting agendas and innovative formats to match. You’ll be both inward and outward looking – with the ability to look out at what’s going on in the industry and at competitor events. As with the wider team in this proactive and fully engaged organisation, you’ll be constantly looking forward to improve and enhance. Role responsibilities include:

•             Researching, developing and delivering outstanding content across their portfolio of events.
•             Working closely with the policy, membership and sponsorship teams to understand the current industry objectives.
•             Keep up to date with industry trends, through event attendance, industry media, stakeholder relationships etc.
•             Identifying new themes and topics that are relevant and timely
•             Production of creative and innovative conference agendas, considering new technologies and ways of presenting information.
•             Market research and analysis of key subject areas and hot topics within the industry and relevant target audiences
•             Identifying and inviting high-level, influential industry experts to speak at relevant events
•             Copy writing of promotional material for conference programmes and marketing activities to appeal to relevant audiences
•             Identifying relevant sponsorship and commercial opportunities
•             Onsite attendance at relevant events to help build relationships

You:
We are looking for a bit of a bright light for this one! The successful candidate will be an experienced conference producer or conference manager, accustomed to delivering exceptional content in high-pressure and high-profile conferences and events. This role will be a natural home for a persuasive, confident storyteller and it requires the skills to continually match complex regulatory and legislative issues with an interactive, outstanding delegate experience. An ability to analyse complex problems to find innovative event solutions and refreshing formats will be advantageous, while the ability to juggle multiple, diverse workflows simultaneously is essential.  You’ll be a natural rapport builder, not precious about your work, able to take on other peoples thoughts and ideas to facilitate collaborative and best outcomes. You might come from a commercial, publishing, or a similar membership body background ... whatever your background key will be your conference production expertise and skill set and the ability and drive to successfully and continually push forward a sector leading programme of events. Specially we’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience of producing content for both small- and large-scale events – a strong conference producer skill set, and the ability to devise highly relevant, engaging and commercially successful event programmes and agendas
  • A track record of developing sector leading and commercially successful event content
  • Ability to conduct relevant research and analysis – working closely and collaboratively with inhouse sector experts and strong awareness of external sector activities and both bubbling and hot topics
  • Strong skills of persuasion and stakeholder management – a good collaborator and facilitator
  • Able to solve complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions
  • Experienced in, and confident of, working across several events, sometimes in close succession
  • Understanding of branding sensitivity; experience of working successfully with multiple sponsors while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Able to work independently, and as part of a multi disciplined team
  • Event marketing and copy-writing experience is essential
  • Highly desired experience within Financial Services
  • Self motivated, engaging and investigative mind

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and ambitious Conference Producer or Conference Manager looking for their next challenge, to fully immerse themselves in this impressive team and Body - and play a key role in the success and future shape of the organisation’s event programme.

The role offers an excellent benefits package, and a highly rated great place to work.
