Fantastic Events Manager role with this leading charity who support professionals in the media/creative sector – to deliver their varied events portfolio.

The Company 
Fabulous organisation who work at the heart of the advertising/marketing sector. Their objective is the support, development and wellbeing of professionals in their exciting but demanding sector – offering expert help, advice and career guidance - career coaching, networking opportunities, grants and masterclasses. A key part of this is their varied events programme – and, working alongside their Fundraising and Partnerships team they have an expert Events Team to deliver this.  Excellent working culture.

The Role 
You will join an Events Team of 3 – as Event Manager reporting into the Head of Events and supported by an Event Executive.  Your role will be the planning, review, development and delivery of a portfolio of new and existing fundraising and engagement events for the industry, in line with the organisation’s aims and strategy.  Events would range from talks and seminars on wellbeing issues or professional development, Panel Q&As, Speed date mentoring events, Annual General Meet – to more fundraising focussed events, golf, cycling events, fashion show etc. 

Key responsibilities:

  • To lead on a portfolio of events including social, networking and Talks/Seminars to deliver against agreed objectives and income targets.
  • End to end event management covering all aspects of planning, communication, logistics, supplier management, budget management
  • To line manage the Events Executive, including objective setting; holding regular 1:1s and the annual appraisal
  • To maximise income and supporter engagement from all new and existing events.
  • To manage and steer a number of senior event committees – these are made up of senior executives/CEOs and MDS from the UK’s major advertising and marketing companies
  • To work as a member of the wider strategic partnerships team, sharing contacts and information for maximum joined up relationship management, to boost event sales and team participation.
  • To work closely with the communications and insights team to maximise event marketing opportunities.
  • To keep abreast of new event developments and opportunities for the organisation to help grow and evolve existing activity.

You

You are an experienced Event Manager, who has delivered varied event formats, across all aspects of preplanning and co-ordination, supplier and venue management, budget management etc.  Ideally you’ll have experience across both information-led and fundraising events of varied size and formats.  This will be underpinned by exceptional communication and organisation skills and superlative attention to detail.  You will have the confidence and experience to deal with the most senior of industry professionals and committees. Experience of line management.
Essential criteria:

  • Event management – proven experience of delivering varied event formats – end to end
  • Highly organised and calm under pressure – good logistical knowledge and experience, venues, suppliers etc
  • Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good working knowledge of databases and the use of data in marketing campaigns
  • Budget planning and management experience
  • Good working knowledge of the advertising and media industry and an understanding of the structure of agencies and media owners
  • Senior committee steering / management experience – working with senior level stakeholders
  • Excellent planning, scheduling and attention to detail
