Leading professional services association – get your events career off to a brilliant start, working on international events for this prestigious global body.

THE COMPANY
This events team of 10 delivers the busy international events programme for this very prestigious professional body within the legal sector.  Joining as Conference Administrator you’ll work closely with Event Organisors, on international conferences and events, including attending them on-site  This is a brilliant career opportunity for a budding events professional looking to work within a prestigious sector.

THE ROLE
You’ll be supporting a Conference Organisor working on between 6 and 8 prestigious international events (average size 250) each year.  You’ll be the key contact for speakers and delegates (all from within the legal profession) with phone and email contact.  You’ll be working with the online registration system so you’ll need to be tech savvy, with good attention to detail, able to pull reports, check details and sort badges, materials, information etc for events.  You’ll liaise with speakers about their presentations, and their attendance at associated dinners etc. You’ll look after all event admin, and also attend your international events on-site.  The role is a mix of admin and personal communication – within a professional and prestigious sector.  Great opportunity to learn, develop and get international events experience with a talented and professional team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Speaker liaison and co-ordination and logistics
  • Speaker Presentation co-ordination, updating and uploading
  • Oversee conference registrations, produce reports, lists, dietry etc, set up and manage conference database
  • Co-ordinate signage and materials, and freight organising
  • Deal with specialist conference incoming phone calls and e-mails regarding registration queries and information.
  • Provide on-site support at conferences in order to assist delegates and speakers.

THE CANDIDATE
An Events Grad. or equivalent looking to build a solid career in events. Good admin and communication skills are essential of course, as well as an interest to work within a prestigious professional sector.  You need to be well presented, have some existing office experience, excellent professional communication skills – and be looking to develop a career within events.  You’ll understand the importance of, and be wanting to, learn the basics of event logistics really well – and comfortable working from the bottom up.  You’ll need to be fairly tech savvy, and happy working with online systems.  Good team player, and prepared to work hard, and make the most of all the advantages of getting the exceptional international event experience that this role offers.Additional languages are useful if you have them, but not essential.

Key requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, organised, lots of common sense, good natural but professional interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills, ideally experience with online databases or similar, excellent attention to detail
  • Event Grad, and/or Junior with some office experience looking to build a career within events
  • Flexible, hardworking, team player
  • Languages useful
