Interim Event Manager – 3 month contract – A Royal Academy

Job Description

Leading professional body are looking for an experienced Event Manager to join their team to take ownership of a number of prestigious event projects of varied size and complexity, and take to delivery over the next three months. (NB Would consider 3-4 day/week working for this role).

This is a world-renowned Professional Body. You’ll be joining an existing team of six, and reporting in to the Head of Events & Marketing. The team deliver a full and varied international virtual and f2f events programme of varied events, which champion and support their innovative leading-edge sector and members, with an equally innovative range of formats and event objectives.

The Role:
This role will be working on end to end event management, specifically the management of event logistics, event marketing and other operational logistics for assigned in-person, online and hybrid events. (NB Would consider 3-4 day/week working for this role).These will be varied and include:

  • A prestigious Global Policy Roundtable
  • A high profile Leadership Lunch
  • A series of global ‘competition pitch’ events

The Event Manager will take on lead responsibility for the successful delivery of these events – including overall project management, speaker management, technical/virtual production, branding, delegate logistics and cost monitoring, liaision with stakeholders. Runsheets and event briefing packs for stakeholders and speakers, including rehearsals and delivering verbal briefings, as well as the hands on technical running of events on the basic platforms eg zoom seminars where appropriate.

Candidate requirements
As this is a contract role the successful candidate will need to be experienced enough to take full ownership of projects quickly and work with minimal ‘hand holding’. You'll be an experienced event manager, excellent logistics, stakeholder management and communication skills, and would enjoy working on varied event formats.  Key requirements include:

  • Previous experience of delivering virtual and f2f events - excellent event logistics skills, highly organised, excelletn stakeholder management and communication
  • Experience of working across a wide range of event formats (eg seminars, conferences, roundtables, lunches, workshops, awards)
  • End to end event management including event logistics, delegate management (CRM), speaker liaison, experience of working with production suppliers (including Virtual), event marketing, schedules etc
  • Experience of working successfully with varied internal and external stakeholders
  • Efficient worker, good time manager, excellent communicator and co-ordinator
  • Experience of successfully working and managing projects, stakeholders and suppliers remotely
  • Understanding of wider context/objective of events, target audience, event marketing and event design in line with event objectives
