- This well known Grade 1 listed (multi space) London venue is looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic Venue/Venue Sales professional with excellent relationship building and organisational skills to join their Client Events team – to optimise the commercial usage of this historic, and busy multi-space heritage venue.

Well-known and loved, stunning, iconic, historic London Grade 1 listed venue with varied and beautiful spaces, used for high profile corporate events and award ceremonies, banquets, concerts, receptions, special events as well as prestigious City Livery events. A truly amazing venue, steeped in history and tradition – used by a huge range of organisations for their prestigious and varied special events for the impressive and beautiful setting the venue offers in its range of unique spaces, and the brilliant experience ensured by it’s expert events team.
THE ROLE
You’ll be working at the heart of a busy and passionate events team – who deal with all external clients and their events – leading corporates, charities and varied high profile organisations. All the events they do are of the highest quality, and use the varied beautiful spaces offered within this historic setting (25-900 pax). As Venue Sales Manager you’ll report in to the Business Development Manager and closely mentor and co-ordinate with the Venue Sales Administrator. With excellent diary management, and great client relationship building kills, you'll be responsible for maximising the commercial use of the venue, dealing with the larger event enquiries, giving excellent client guidance. By overseeing all sales, co-ordinating the diary, optimising income received and building relationships you’ll ensure the venue remains a key and competitive player within the exclusive venues of London. This isn't a hard sell role - it is about the ability to oversee the whole in terms of commercial maximisation and usage, building relationships, and ensuring the great experience and service received makes clients want to come back! If you'd enjoy getting involved with the social media aspects promoting the venue that would be great too! Key responsibilities include:- Work closely with the Business Development Manager in the promotion of the venue
- Be first point of contact for the larger client enquiries related to the use of the venue, including promoting the venue and advising how it’s varied spaces can be utilised to best fit their requirements
- Work closely with and mentor the Sales Administrator to effectively deal with all incoming enquiries – and follow ups
- Give clients excellent advice, show rounds etc
- Research and understand business trends and market competition
- To provide focussed customer care and attention to key clients with repeat bookings and any large commercial enquiries to encourage client loyalty and repeat business
- To research and implement improvements to the operation of the diary to increase efficiency and capitalise on booking enquiries to achieve and exceed commercial targets.
- To have oversight of the processing of event contracts and invoicing, ensuring that all clients comply with the Venue’s terms and conditions of hire and that all contracts and payments are completed according to the City Corporation’s requirements.
- To support the Business Development Manager in the analysis of event and sales data and feed into the venue marketing strategy, supporting marketing initiatives to promote commercial usage
- Research competitor venues to obtain market intelligence and an understanding of business trends, using this to ensure the Venue remains competitive in the marketplace and to identify potential business to target
- To identify best practice in procedures and customer service in diary management in order to contribute to continuous operational improvement.
- To keep abreast of event diary management systems developments and their appropriateness for and to lead on procuring any new systems as required.

You’ll be a great relationship builder, able to understand your client’s events requirements and aspirations. You'll have previous experience working in a Venue - ideally multi-space - and would enjoy having the big picture view of maximising the venue's usage and commerical hire sales. You’ll be strongly motivated to deliver a high level of customer service. Previous events and/or sales experience from within a venue (or event services provider eg catering), along with a high level of written and oral communication skills and excellent client/customer service skills. You’ll need to be confident and well presented.
Key requirements:- Experience of event venue sales either as the sole part of your role, or mixed into an event ops focussed role
- Experience of working within a multispace venue, ideally heritage is ideal, but not essential
- Experience of venue diary management/scheduling would be ideal – used to maximising usage in multi-space venue
- Well presented, confident to deal with clients on phone and face to face
- Excellent client service and relationship building
- Degree or equivalent
- Good IT and excellent admin skills, attention to detail, numerate – excellent multi-tasker
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high standard of English, both written and oral
- Smart professional appearance as this role includes working at some formal and very high profile events
