This central London, historic and architecturally stunning venue belongs to a well-known organisation whose name is iconic it’s field. Based in the heart of Westminster this unique and sizable venue is renowned for hosting some of the capital’s most important and high profile events from hi end car launches and fashion shows, to headline grabbing conferences featuring global heads of state. As Event Sales Executive you’ll be responsible for all initial client contact, taking enquiries through, via show arounds and proactive contact to final contract, getting under the skin of event requirements and building client relationships.
Role:
Reporting into the Venue & Special Event Manager, the Event Sales Executive role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of the Venue and be part of a really great team. The venue is well-known, established as a special and unique venue within the London events scene, offers a large flexible, unique and beautiful space, and has a healthy inbound enquiry rate, the business is currently around 80% incoming, 20% proactive. Mainly corporates and agencies needing a large space (up to 1,800 pax), though with some private, large parties & weddings. As such it offers a colourful and varied mix of clients and events to welcome through it’s sizable doors! Key accountabilities include:
- To manage and respond to a broad range of incoming event enquiries from private and corporate clients, through to high end fashion shows, film shoots and product launches
- Manage the sales journey from initial enquiry through to contract and achieve budgeted revenue.
- Respond to a variety of incoming enquiries that include private, corporate and agency in a professional and helpful way and convert them to confirmed bookings.
- To achieve monthly and yearly sales targets and occupancy levels.
- To have robust knowledge of the event industry in and around London and an understanding of the key event caterers, suppliers and AV/production in order to sell the venue effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the venue, its capacities and suppliers plus a good working knowledge of the venues event operations.
- To source new business leads and make contact with potential customers to develop the sales pipeline.
- To conduct site visits with potential clients and align their requirements to the venue’s offer.
- To establish a productive and collaborative working relationship with the Venue Operations Team to ensure a smooth and professional client journey from enquiry through to event delivery.
- Actively manage the venue’s social media platforms and act as liaison with the Marketing team to ensure relevant messaging. To attend networking events as required.
- To assist with the tender process for accredited suppliers list for catering, AV/Production, florists and security.
- Raise contracts and invoices for confirmed events, working alongside internal teams to maintain accurate tracking. Preparing and following up on sales quotations and proposals. Data entry (leads, client details and data updating) on the company CRM system.
- Support the Venue & Special Events Manager as and when required.
You’ll have some proven experience in venue/event sales, and love getting client contact and showing off your venue! An understanding of the events industry from a corporate hire perspective is ideal, (and a private hire perspective beneficial). Key is your upbeat approach and attitude – bright, positive approach, great at building relationships, and would enjoy the interactivity offered by client contact and show arounds. To be successful you will need to have a proactive attitude and be a great communicator and well organised, and essential is your ability to deliver exceptional levels of customer service. You’ll be the face of the venue for incoming and outgoing sales activities and client contact, so will also get out and about into the market, and be supported by an excellent and professional operations team.- Some pre-existing experience working in venue/event sales, and enjoy being the main client interface
- An understanding of the event sector, variety of events, keen to learn more!
- Ability to deal with and progress incoming enquiries as well as develop and deliver outgoing sales plan and activities (working with the marketing team)
