- Fabulous senior level events venue role at beautiful historical listed property in central London – working closely with a range of internal and external clients to deliver their top level events in this most glorious of situations.

Stunning London venue property - heritage and listed building and home to a prestigious membership body and authority and a registered charity / corporation. The venue is the jewel in the crown, and they have a team of c. 300 employees involved in their varied wider activities. The events team offer a very personalized service, and a high level of event delivery/detail reflective of their wider reputational profile.
ROLE
The Head of Events is looking to replace a long-standing member of the events & venue hire team and is also mindful of forward planning – so is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Event Manager to join this wonderful organization and their beautiful venue. In this role (50/50 sales and ops) you'll be organising events for internal clients (dinners, receptions, seminars, meetings etc) though the majority of your day-to-day work will be handling external client enquires and events & venue hire bookings (responding to venue hire enquiries, reactive sales, preparing contacts, event planning for the client, supplier management & on-site ops). You’ll also keep an oversight on promoting & marketing the venue and ensuring it has a strong positioning in the London venue market. It's a stunning property (listed building 17th century with several beautiful venue spaces for 10-180pax) and it's a very busy venue that holds approx 200 events per year (always exclusive hire), client mix is 80% corporate / 20% private events (parties, weddings etc..) and on average these are 70% daytime events / 30% evening.

YOU
This role will suit a super-organised, very client facing and commercially astute Event Manager, experienced in delivering high level dinners, receptions etc including formal – previous experience as a Venue Manager, Operations or Hospitality Manager with a minimum of 5 years’ experience (4-5* venue side, working for an outside caterer is of particular interest, or hospitality or events company – experience working on high level hospitality events, dinners etc, and ideally with some experience with more formal/traditional clients and guests (including royalty). Candidates will need to have a good mix of reactive sales and venue-side event operations skills and be able to proactively develop and manage relationships with clients. You’ll need to have high quality written and oral communication skills, an understanding of city/livery practices and traditions would be a bonus, and exceptional client/customer servicing and communication skills essential!
