Senior Communications Producer - (live events and communications agency)

Job Description

Strategically-focussed Surrey-based live events and communications agency are looking for an experienced Senior Communications Producer to lead on varied internal communications and live events projects for an impressive client list.

Established live event and culture change agency known for their strategic and consultative approach with their clients – and for their global delivery of engaging live event and communications solutions.

The Senior Communications Producer will have responsibility for the design, planning and delivery of a main communications project (or a number of smaller coms projects) from brief to execution.  The range of works includes live events projects and campaigns, and also a growing number of ‘consultancy orientated’ projects where good understanding and/or awareness of other channels of communication including training methodologies are important.  Projects could be an internal change programme, a global communications role out, or pure live event focussed, a product or communications launch.  The role will require working from insight gathering, designing the experience and communications tools and programme roll-out, delivering it faultlessly and measuring impact.  Scoping the event, project or programme and then allocating the necessary resources and budget.  The Producer will supervise the project team from research and creative concepts through to logistics and technical, building relationships with colleagues, suppliers and clients alike, and overseeing all relevant content development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Form and lead project teams
  • Lead the creative process if not by idea generation itself then by enlisting, facilitating and mentoring the creative process with the right people in the right meetings
  • Project and programme management from the simple to the complex – includes a good understanding of training processes and workshop content design
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of projects: creative, content, design, technical, ops and logistics
  • Client contact and relationship building  - manage client communications
  • Involvement in business development and pitches
  • Budget control/management – achieve project profit margins
  • Supplier management
  • Develop positive on-going client relationships including new ones – gain client trust and respect
  • Develop in-depth understanding of relevant strategic aims and communication requirements, and translate these into programme design and deliverables – programme/brand guardian

You’ll be an experienced Producer/Programme Manager with experience within live events, and exposure to  broader communications/training/culture change projects, utilising a varied range of media for delivery.  You’ll have extensive experience of managing production and creative teams, and managing complex projects from initial brief through to delivery and reconciliation.  You’d be joining a collaborative and pro-active culture, where entrepreneurial drive and a quizzical mind are encouraged – so you’ll be a strong advocate of these attributes.  You’ll be adaptable and diplomatic, and with an empathetic skills set to mentor and manage junior members of the team.

Key requirements:

  • Proven project team management experience, and strong leadership skills
  • Experience of working on varied live event/communications projects ideally within an agency setting
  • Experience working with corporate clients with varied communications challenges and objectives
  • Knowledge of technical and logistical aspects of live event production, including film and video/moving image
  • Ability to write clear and concise copy
  • Highly organised, with effective delegation skills
  • Advanced influencing skills
