Funky property company with amazing venue spaces are looking for a Venue Operations Manager for a new London venue they’re opening this summer!

THE COMPANY
Forward thinking, innovative and incredibly funky property company who currently own a few London sites (all with fantastic venue spaces) and have great plans for expansion, that are due to launch a further flagship space in the summer and more sites later this year. They work with a wide variety of clients from entertainment and fashion to the more corporate side (and everything in between!) and manage a variety of corporate, creative and member-focused events including product launches, photo shoots, advert filming, drinks parties, talks & debates, receptions, promotions, business and networking events. THE ROLE
Venue Manager (operations) for an exciting new London venue space due to open early/mid July.

This role reporting to the company’s Head of Operations (who looks after all the London sites), will see you working closely with the Venue Building Manager and other staff / departments (including the membership & reception teams, the F&B/restaurant & bar staff, the sales team and the events & marketing departments) from “day-one”.

The site / venue will have 3 revenue streams – a co-working and membership area (including hot desk, meeting rooms, members lounge etc..), a restaurant & bar and various “cool as you can get” event spaces for corporate and private hire.

Responsibilities will be venue-side operations, venue diary bookings management, day to day running of a venue,  working out the time needed in between bookings to turn spaces around from an events space, to a private members function area, back to a venue hire for an external event or photo shoot and then back into a fully functioning restaurant and making sure everyone working for the venue knows what is going on, where and what their individual timeframes are for the use of each space.

IMPORTANT: This isn’t an end to end event management role (they already have an events team to organise events) – it’s a venue based ops role that needs an understanding of event management & event production and lots of experience in venue hire, venue-side ops and room booking / venue diary management. NO sales involved in this role at all.
YOU

You’ll be a confident, dynamic and proactive person with a creative edge and strong venue-side operations & diary bookings management skills and a background (minimum 5 years) in the day to day running of a venue (ideally in a more business based environment – private members club or co-working space).

You’ll need to have a good understanding of events but more from a set-up/de-rig, contractor liaison, equipment coordination and operational point of view rather than the actual planning, organising and delivery of events. Knowledge of restaurant & bar operations would also be useful but not essential.

From a personality / work ethic point of view you’ll need to be hands-on, great with people and a good multi-tasker who thrives in a fast paced and very sociable / customer-service focused environment. You’ll definitely need to be high-energy, enthusiastic and outgoing but you’ll also need the experience, weight and gravitas to prioritise requirements and liaise effectively with staff, suppliers, clients and members in an easy going and calm way. You’ll also be highly motivated and driven and be keen to grow with the company as they themselves expand.
