Excellent opportunity for a super organised Events and Marketing Co-ordinator to join team at leading professional body within the travel/leisure sector.

THE ORGANISATION
This well-respected and long established organisation provides support, protection and expertise for companies and customers within this exciting and dynamic sector. They deliver a diverse program of conferences, seminars and practical workshops, as well as supporting other industry events throughout the year. They are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on coordinator to support the Marketing Manager, and ensure the smooth running and high quality of their events – and to ensure that the right people are attending!

THE ROLE
You will form part of a friendly, sociable and supportive events marketing team, within an organisation of around 90 people. You will help stage, from initial planning to on-site delivery, around 65 internal and external events per annum, including member engagement meetings, networking receptions, exhibitions and conferences. You will also assist with the marketing of this organisation’s growing portfolio of B2B conferences, seminars and training days – so as well as event delivery you’ll be involved in the marketing of events! This is a very varied role, with the opportunity to attend events UK-wide, although the majority will be held in London.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing logistics at travel industry Exhibitions and Shows e.g managing suppliers, event set-up and post-event management
  • Delivering marketing support for commercial events – marketing emails, websites, registration pages, build targeted marketing lists and research key contacts to ensure key audiences are reached
  • Planning and delivery of member engagement events (dinners and networking receptions) e.g venue research, accommodation and catering booking, welcoming attendees
  • Organising internal staff Anniversary events/parties (approx. 2 per annum)
  • Working closely with other teams: Member services, Communications and Marketing

YOU
You will be a well-organised Event/Marketing Co-ordinator adept at coordinating multiple projects simultaneously and managing your workload effectively. You will also be a strong communicator, with a confident manner, who is able to deal with enquiries from senior delegates and staff and to negotiate with suppliers. You must also be a great team player, with a pro-active attitude who is able to turn their hand to a number of different tasks. It is a great opportunity to take on a variety of duties and promote company ethos!

  • At least 2 years of experience in a B2B, Association or corporate events environment
  • Events and event marketing experience
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the travel industry ideally
  • Email marketing experience and previous use of CMS/CRM – highly desirable!
