Event Marketing Executive

We are looking for an experienced event marketing expert to work for a world renowned association!

This is a fantastic opportunity to be a pivotal part in marketing a variety of conferences, exhibitions, training and celebration events.

The Company

A leading medical professional body and advocate amongst medical care with over 5,800 fellows and members internationally. In representing a wide professional group, this organisation hosts a portfolio of major events in the UK each year which attract a large volume of attendees, businesses and sponsors.

The Role

Reporting to the Events Manger, this role is primarily responsible for the marketing and social media coverage of events. As well as marketing all of their events, you will also coordinate the event logistics for a range of smaller in-house events in the annual calendar, including planning, budgeting, marketing and delivery. You will have the opportunity to create new marketing strategies to promote the events and roll out campaigns across online and offline platforms (email, social media, web articles and hard-copy flyers). This role will be based out of the head office in central London with some national travel involved.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Create and design all event branding and coordinate production of marketing collateral
  • Design and produce engaging content for ads, print material and web content
  • Develop and implement a social media policy to gain maximum exposure
  • Manage content and keep event websites up to date
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, media and suppliers
  • Project manage small events including logistics (venue, AV, catering, exhibitors, contractors and equipment), budget management, delegate registrations, entertainment and onsite delivery
  • Post event marketing evaluation and reporting

About You

I am looking for a proactive and positive marketing professional with a “can-do” attitude who would relish the opportunity to work in partnership with a busy events team. You will have solid experience running marketing campaigns and logistics for a range of events, from conception to delivery. Ideally you have experience working for membership or not for profit organisations and/or academia, and will have worked on events such as conferences, exhibitions, training and one-off celebrations. You will be a highly organised individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills. A team player but equally happy to work independently, you are adept at managing high volumes of work to deadline.

Key Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Proven end to end event marketing experience
  • Good knowledge or interest in conferencing, exhibitions or B2B events
  • Website content management experience advantageous
  • Excellent IT skills - including Microsoft Office 
  • Experience of events in the health sector desirable but not essential
  • Able to travel nationally for events
