Highly regarded think tank specialising in the world of finance and economic policy offers dream job for bright Conference Producer interested in global economics.

Independent ‘think tank’ operating the twin channels of research and meetings to promote dialogue at the highest levels on world finance and economic policy worldwide.  Runs an annual programme of meetings bringing together network of experts, professionals, decision makers and thematic specialists within the field (including CEOs and Ministers). The organization is dynamic, and growing and highly regarded within it’s sector.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the meetings department at this dynamic organization – to write compelling and topical programmes for their meetings, about issues affecting monetary and economic policy around the world – in this particular role, focussing on the Americas.   You’ll build and maintain relationships with the organisations members (leading institutions within the sector), research themes of interest in your region and build your programmes accordingly.  Identify and invite relevant speakers and participants. Some of your programmes will be of commercial value, and so you’ll identify and approach organisations/institutions that may be interested to partner or fund your project.   Working closely with the logistics, membership and development team, you’ll produce about 30 meetings a year, ranging from 10-person roundtables, to panel discussions, to 150 pax lectures.

Key requirements in the ideal candidate:

  • Enthusiasm and understanding for economics and economic policy. 
  • 2:1 degree or higher in a related field
  • Previous experience as a Conference Producer for financial events, or related role involving research and writing, or a role in finance or economics
  • Knowledge of Americas desirable, not essential
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent writer – able to make the most complex issues seem captivating.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – meeting and building strong relationships with new people comes naturally to you.
  • Although you are not a sales person, the commercial aspect of seeing partnership opportunities does not phase you, and you would be confident in persuading someone of the benefits of funding your programme
  • Appreciate value of producing flawless programmes, representing the professionalism of the organization.  You can identify and justify why a meeting is important, and of interest to your members
