Role & Team
You’ll be joining the busy Event Delivery team of 8 who work across a varied portfolio of events, flagship conferences, workshops & seminars, lunches/dinners, receptions and thought leadership events.  The event delivery team is sizable, and they work in a flat structure, normally with an event lead and 1 support on each event. You’d have your own set of events, and as well as delivering all the event logistics Event Managers work closely with the event committees and working groups, taking minutes and co-ordinating pre-planning process.  Working closely with the Director Commercial Delivery Team, and Head of Operations Delivery, the Events & Training Manager will have an opportunity to work across a range of physical and virtual training and events activities, from webinars to workshops and conferences to networking dinners, maintaining a consistently high standard for the ‘member experience’.  All events are UK based.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure oversight and coordination of planning meetings for projects, with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure information flow and planning processes are consistent across the business.
  • Work within an existing framework of standard operating procedures for events and training to ensure key deadlines are met and stakeholders are updated.
  • End to end event delivery, including all venue search and procurement, responsible for managing audio-visual, technology platform, production and catering suppliers to create outstanding events and training
  • Ensuring key sponsors and event partners are provided with support as required
  • Act as key liaison with procurement team to have a roster of suppliers to drive cost and buying power, efficiencies and consistency. (e.g production / branding / venues / caterers) and that key finance processes are adhered to
  • Ensuring that presentations, materials and other collateral are produced standards
  • Deliver vision and values the organisation through all work

You:
A talented Event Project Manager, with an interest in financial services, you’ll ideally come from a corporate or association background (financial sector highly beneficial), with excellent event management skills, alongside exceptional communication skills and the ability to work with individual and groups of stakeholders to deliver on all aspects of an event’s objectives.  You’ll have experience working across a range of event sizes and formats, from conferences, to seminars and dinners.  Skills and competencies required:

  • Events/workshop delivery experience across all mediums, virtual, hybrid and in person – from 10 - 600
  • A process-driven event project manager, used to organising high-pressure and high-profile conferences, training workshops and/or networking events.
  • An ability to analyse a complex problem’s component parts to find innovative logistical solutions will be advantageous, while the ability to juggle multiple, diverse workflows simultaneously is essential. 
  • Advanced Powerpoint skills, strong negotiation skills;
  • Strong communication skills – both written and oral
  • Unafraid by the prospect of running many events, often close together; meeting deadlines and delivering under pressure
  • Experience of working successfully with multiple sponsors while maintaining brand integrity
  • Works independently, receives minimal guidance - works well with others to ensure collaboration
  • Event marketing and copy-writing experience would be advantageous;
  • Experience of using Salesforce-based CRM systems also a plus.
