Events Co-ordinator – (Professional Membership Body)

Job Description

Great opportunity for an experienced Event Co-ordinator to work on a varied and busy programme of events at this prestigious membership body.

Leading professional body, within the medical sector, with a focus on women’s health – their mission to improve women’s health through the provision, advancement and dissemination of the highest quality education, standards and research information within their specialist sector.  A key part of their work is their varied programme of events, which includes a large international annual Congress, educational events and a varied member programme.

Reporting into the Event Manager, this is full and busy role, and will give you responsibility for your own programme of training events and courses, as well as looking after specific parts of the annual International Congress - including the exhibition and sponsors, and the varied social events, dinners etc.  You’ll also have responsibility for line managing the Events Assistant.   Throughout you’ll be dealing with a diverse range of contacts, from Sponsors and Faculty members and VIPs, to exhibition suppliers.  The role needs a real team player with excellent event co-ordination skills, specific previous experience with exhibitors, and great communication skills.

You’ll be looking for a next role that gives you variety, ownership and keeps you busy!  You’ll have enough experience to hit the ground running and look after your own smaller events, and will need some previous experience looking after exhibitors/sponsors, pre-event organizing, communications and liaison, and with relevant suppliers (exhibition, branding etc).  You’ll also enjoy working on the social events eg dinners, and have good creative ideas as well as being practical to the core!  Happy managing multiple deadlines, excellent IT skills, numerate and a confident and friendly team player.
Specifically we’re looking for someone:

  • With previous experience of event co-ordination within a professional/commercial environment
  • Experience working on the exhibition side (dealing with sponsors/exhibitors – pre-event planning, communications and on-site)
  • Experience of websites and social media management
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines, and a varied workload well
  • Excellent communication skills – able to liaise with varied contacts, Faculty, VIP Speakers, internal team, and suppliers
  • Personable, team player
