Iconic London location & outdoor venue space need an experienced Event Manager for a 3 month contract (mid Jan – April 2018) to work on a range of large scale outdoor public events & food/music festivals!


This is a 3 month Venue Event Manager contract role (reporting in to the Head of the Events department) that will see you working at a stunning greenspace area in London that is ran by a Board of Trustees who open up the space for public facing 2-3 day food or music festival type of events as well as for corporate hire and press & media activities.

This is a fantastic large venue space with a stunning backdrop that is regularly used for photo-shoots, press launches & installations as well as for public/community events and your role will be more venue-side operations (rather than end-to-end planning & delivering events) and will involve liaising with clients and event organisers who want to hire the venue space for their events. NB: there is no sales whatsoever attached to this role as there is a large waiting list of event bookings & applications so it’s more a case of managing the enquiries and authorizing the go-ahead of each event, booking these into the calendar and then working closely with the event organisers & promoters to help them put on a safe, slick and fun event.

The role will also include management of all commercial hire bookings, project coordination, venue event management, face-to-face client meetings & site visits/show-rounds, H&S and licences, budget management, social media & web-page updating, assisting on the development of a marketing policy & strategy, admin, reporting and minute taking, multiple stakeholder liaison (emergency services, council, trust members, local association, press & media, internal staff & gardeners/grounds), on-site event management including overseeing set-up & de-rig, crowd control and security.


You’ll be an outgoing, proactive and “sleeves-rolled-up” Event Manager (or Senior Event Coordinator) with circa 3 years’ venue side operations experience and a good understanding of putting on outdoor public events & festivals. You’ll have strong event project management & on-site event management skills, really good H&S knowledge (you don’t have to be IOSH or NEBOSH qualified but you must be very au-fait with risk assessments, H&S and licences for outdoor or public facing events) and be someone who can engage confidently and diplomatically with a range of internal & external stakeholders, press & media, corporate clients, charities, members of the general public & business partners at all levels. Strong marketing & social media skills would be hugely advantageous and you should have good IT knowledge and be willing to learn new systems including basic accounting & book keeping software as/when needed.

From a personality point of view, you’ll be enthusiastic, highly organised, practical, detailed and very solutions focused. You’ll also be a real “people-person” who is comfortable working in a small company and not-for-profit environment and be someone who is always cheerful, up-beat and pragmatic no matter what is thrown at you!
