Our client is a leading membership association within the travel and leisure sector –  and their events team deliver a busy and varied programme of seminars, conferences, roundtables, panel discussions, both small and large scale events for their members and the travel trade, around hot topics in the travel and leisure sector, as well as championing policy and professional standards for professionals working in the sector.

The Events Team deliver a busy programme of over 60 events a year – and as Event Executive you will look after your own smaller events, both the content and the delivery, and work as part of the team to support on larger events. We are looking for someone who is able to carry out all aspects of event organisation, including delegate and speaker management, budgeting, venue booking and supplier management. You'll also be involved in content production for small and medium sized events – ie working with the team to develop what the events are about -  so an interest in and ability to research sector topics, and good writing/copy skills are also needed. They’re a close, supportive and friendly team, with a great working culture. This role is suitable for an ambitious graduate, with one year’s event experience who is keen to take the next step in their career in events. 

Key Responsibilities are across both event delivery and content develop, and include:

  • Event Management
    • Source venues and liaise with event suppliers (A/V, printers etc)
    • Speaker and delegate administration – joining instructions/confirmations, badging, collation of delegate packs, speaker biogs and presentations
    • On-site co-ordination on the day of events
  • Content Production:
    • For small and medium-sized events, carry out market research on a topic, write a event programme and copy that summarises and attracts member attendance, source and secure senior industry speakers and partners
    • Liaise internally to agree content and key messages
  • Post-event administration, budget management, CRM data administration

We're looking for someone with great reseach skills and an inquistive mind, and good solid event co-ordination skills.  Ideally you're a Graduate (in marketing/business or similar), with minimum 1 years experience in delivering events.  A team player, great support person with excellent customer service focus, great admin and highly organised.  A quick and efficient learner with excellent IT skills, experience within logistical event co-ordination, as well as experience and/or strong aptitude for topic research and copywriting.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key requirements:

  • At least 1 year’s experience working in events. (This could include an industrial placmenet whilst at Univeristy)
  • Ideally University or equivalent educated, preferably 2.1 degree - in marketing, business subjects, and good research skills developed through this, and an interest in using these skills in your next job
  • Highly organised, good admin/IT skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good logistical event co-ordination experience and aptitude
  • Good copy writing and research ability/interest
  • Able to provide excellent customer service - confident manner, able to deal with enquiries and senior speakers, and conduct research
  • Well organised, able to plan workload and juggle varied activities.
  • A team player, self-motivated, confident and pro-active Able to demonstrate an understanding of events and knowledge/interest in the travel industry
