Events Executive – (Professional Membership Body)

Job Description

Great opportunity to join this prestigious body looking for an experienced, approachable Event Executive to join their busy events team, and work on their varied event programme for members and industry experts.

Company:
Leading professional body, within a fast moving corporate sector.  The Institution exists to provide insights, leadership, relevant learning and activities to maintain and grow an informed professional membership.  As part of this, they run a busy programme of varied UK events, including Awards, Conferences, Exhibitions and Webinars, and a busy professional development programme.

Role:
Reporting to the Event Director, (and in a team of 4)  you’ll have responsibility for organizing, running and project managing their own events – both regular and one-off events, as well as supporting on other events as required.  You’ll take the initial brief from your internal stakeholders, so you’ll know the right scoping questions to ask, and be able to put structure and a plan to achieving their objectives.  You’ll build internal relationships within the Association, and be keen to develop your own understanding of members needs, and a knowledge of the sector.

You:
To apply for this role, you’ll need to have a track record of delivering and supporting professional events, for a membership organization is ideal, and if that is within the financial or insurance sectors that would be really advantageous.  You’ll be personable and approachable, and happy to help and support on various levels.  You’ll be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, and have an interest in researching and finding new ideas, technologies, suppliers, venues etc to keep the events offering fresh and leading edge.

Key requirements:

  • Proven track record as Event Manager or Co-ordinator who has had ownership of your own events – full logistical end-to-end management
  • Excellent event management skills, and experience of organizing varied events within the UK
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to take a brief, and give events guidance
  • Experience of working for a membership organization and/or within the financial or insurance sector is very useful
  • Highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent IT skills, and also event related software, Events Force or similar
  • Friendly, hard working, flexible who enjoys working within a team, and ensuring their event programme is brilliantly executed for its members
