Job Description

We are looking for a bright and super organised Event Co-ordinator to join the lovely team at this leading Body within the broadcast sector. Here you’ll get the opportunity to work on a varied range of events - as well as supporting the Head of Events on their larger events, you’ll be given your own set of events to run.   

This organisation is a highly regarded and well-known Body with Royal patronage that sits at the heart of the broadcast industry. The team deliver a really varied range of events in support of their aims, from televised awards events celebrating achievements in their field, to screenings, thought leadership conferences and events, a Graduate Fair, dinners, receptions, seminars & lectures, roundtables ... and everything in between.  They also run an annual programme of Masterclass events (webinars and f2f) aimed specifically at the younger generation looking to make their careers in broadcast.

Role & Context
You’ll be joining a really friendly and supportive team of Head of Events and Event Manager. The role has two strands to it - you will work as direct support to the Head of Events, and support her across the logistics and event admin for all her varied events and awards programmes, from managing award submissions, to guest registration, venue and supplier liaison to printing name places etc on the day. You will also be given your own set of events (the programme of webinars and f2f events aimed at the new generation entering or looking to enter the sector). In this part of your role you will be liaising directly with the Committee,  of delivery of the future events

  • Provide event admin support (delegate, speaker, awards etc) communication and management
  • Produce marketing materials, co-ordinate technical arrangements, running orders, delegate information sheets, issue invitations to VIPs, budget management
  • Co-ordinate seminars and events as part of the New Generation Masterclass series of events, be the main co-ordinator and liaison point for the commissioning committee etc
  • Work pre-event and on-site for a range of events – from Awards, Gala Dinners, Conferences, Screenings, Receptions, Seminars, Recruitment Fair

This is a brilliant role, and would suit someone looking for a fully immersive junior events role, happy to do all the event admin nitty gritty, as well as take ownership where needed, and to work in a really great team, where you will learn tons. In exchange we are looking for someone who is hard working, flexible, has excellent admin skills, great communication skills, and ideally min 1 year event assisting or co-ordination experience. Bright, flexible and looking to get your teeth into a busy and varied role ... although the role sits at the heart of the TV & Broadcast world we are definitely not looking for a diva! Specifically we are looking for someone who has:

  • Some existing events experience – ideally min 1 year
  • Really good IT skills, across Word, Excel etc
  • Super organised – efficient and with excellent attention to detail
  • A real ‘do-er’ – proactive, flexible, keen, a real team player
  • Confident to take a project and run with it, as well as able to do all the event nitty gritty
  • Confident to deal with varied stakeholders and committee members, to keep projects and deliverables on track
  • Excellent communication skills, diplomatic, a good sense of humour, comfortable dealing with people at all levels, stakeholders, suppliers and Patrons alike.
