Exciting perm role for a Senior Event Manager with B2B events & exhibition stand management experience. Agency role - big brand tech clients!
An established and highly regarded West London event management agency who produce top-class
European B2B events (conferences, big sales kick offs, dinners, product launches and large-scale exhibition stands at major trade shows & expos) for big global brand clients with a heavy focus on technology sector corporate companies.
As Senior Event Manager (reporting to the MD and to individual Project Directors) you will have the support of a small team of event managers/coordinators and will manage all events & exhibition stands (mostly across Europe) for two of this agency's top clients (big brand tech giants!).
This is a hybrid role acting as both account manager and event manager (planning, logistics and on-site delivery), where you will advise and build a solid relationship with your clients as well as handle all aspects of the planning and delivery of their annual event programmes. This will include the project management of their exhibition stands at 3rd party events/shows (negotiating stand location on the trade show floor, stand design (look & feel incorporating all brand guidelines & key corporate messages), floor plan coordination, venue liaison, contractor management and overseeing build, on-site operations & de-rig) as well as the end-to-end event management of all your client’s B2B events such as conferences, big sales kick offs, dinners and product launches. 50% of your time/work will be on exhibition stand project management and the other 50% will be spent on the end-to-end event management of all other B2B events.
As you will be taking over these 2 big tech client accounts there will (certainly at the outset) be a lot of client relationship management and client communications whilst you gain/build their trust and reassure them that they are in a very safe pair of hands!
You'll be an accomplished and ambitious Event Manager / Senior Event Manager with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (at a senior level) of planning, managing & running all aspects of B2B events & exhibition / trade show stands.
Ideally, you'll have an agency background but the role would also work for someone with an association or commercial conferencing background providing they understand the pace of the agency environment and can work at the speed that tech clients often need.
You’ll have solid exhibition stand management experience along with plenty of experience in all aspects of planning and delivering a wide range of B2B events.
Other key skills will include project management, event logistics, account management, client service & relationship building, client comms (including weekly status reports and regular day-to-day project/event updates), venue & supplier/contractor management, event operations, budget & financial management, H&S, load-in & get out, on-site delivery and all post event reconciliation, reporting and evaluation & analysis.
You’ll need the weight & gravitas to reassure clients that they are in safe hands and from a personality and work ethic point of view you’ll need to be a hard-working, “muck-in when needed” and very detailed events professional with a good sense of humour and a broad pair of shoulders!
Additional languages advantageous but not essential at all (Spanish first preference but also French, German or Italian would be useful).
