Risk Manager – Financial Services

The Role:
The Risk Manager will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer, helping to ensure oversight and management of key risks.  You’ll be sat within the Risk function who are accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the risk framework and will have direct line management responsibility of a risk analyst.   This is for a 14 month FTC.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identification of company’s key risks through engagement with Executive, Risk Committee and Trustee providing oversight of the development of risk framework
  • Provide risk management services to organisation – i.e. risk identification workshops, facilitate lessons learned exercises, undertake investigations against regulatory or internal policy breaches, develop continuity, cyber and financial crime response plans.
  • Work with risk owners in the 1st and 2nd lines of defence to help them identity/mitigate risks and help develop control strategies
  • Prepare risk reports for Executive teams
  • Deliver ongoing risk training
  • Liaise with 3rd parties to ensure risk obligations are delivered in line with contractual requirements
  • Liaise with insurance broker to ensure relevant company insurance portfolio

About You:
I’m looking for a Risk Manager who has had experience of implementing enterprise risk frameworks within complex risk environments.  This could include large scale infrastructure projects, defence, transportation, telco, professional services or public sector.  You’ll be adept at working with senior stakeholders and highly experienced in delivering improvement to risk programmes/projects.  Goes without saying but you’ll be a creative thinker and problem solver with excellent organisation skills.
