Job Description

I’m looking for an Investment Software Developer to join an award-winning investment team.
Great opportunity to work for a one of the largest and (growing!) pensions firms in the UK. 

The Company:

A high profile financial services company who have millions of assets under management and a highly sophisticated, award winning investment strategy.  Based in Central London but soon moving to Canary Wharf.

The Role:

This is a new role to join a growing investment tech team. The Investment Software Developer will help develop and maintain the investment platform (IRP) used by the Investment team.  The IRP encompasses all aspects of Investment including Portfolio Optimisation, Asset Allocation and Operational reconciliations.

Reporting to the Head of Investment Technology, the Investment Developer will be required to control all aspects of the software development process, from the initial analysis through to the release and maintenance of any solution that is implemented (using agile methodology).

Typical duties:

  • Gather requirements from business users, analyse data and present solutions
  • Be responsbie for the design, test and build of software solutions and manage quality assurance process
  • Review and maintain all aspects of technolgy used within invesment
  • Upgrade and maintain existing software solutions

About You:

You’ll be an Investment Developer who has gained experience maintaining other IRP’s - investment platforms.  The role requires in depth knowledge of Object-Orientated Programming practices and multi-tier application development as well as the entire software development lifecycle.  You’ll also have strong stakeholder/communication skills and be a team player.

Extensive experience of the following technologies:

  • Programming Languages (essential): C#
  • Programming Languages (nice to have): F#, VB/VBA, Java
  • GUI Frameworks: WPF, WinForms
  • Communication Layers:  WCF, MVVM
  • Databases: SQL Server
  • Data Frameworks: Entity Framework
  • Development Tools: Visual Studio, Telerik (or equivalent)
  • Quant Software: Excel, Matlab
  • Testing Frameworks: NUnit
