Senior Event Manager – (Prestigious London Body)

Job Description

Lead the team at this very prestigious London Body to deliver a varied programme of uniquely high profile events.

This is a unique and highly prestigious London body – and this role will see you leading a team of Event Co-ordinators as you and your team deliver the detailed organisation of varied high profile hospitality events – including attendance of Royalty, and other high profile attendees. Events are mainly traditional in nature, high profile, from intimate receptions to large scale banquets.

You’ll be joining a busy and friendly events team – and be based at one of London’s most historic buildings. You’ll be leading your team across all aspects of the meticulous organisation of events (mainly hospitality focussed), and be the key point of contact with senior officials internally, as well as Royal Households, Foreign Office, embassies and other organisations. You’ll work closely with senior internal stakeholders to research and enhance future events, as well as identifying and maintaining best practice.  Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead on management of high profile event calendar – including high profile banquets, state events, receptions
  • Manage and develop the team of 4, including staff development and performance management
  • Budget management, supplier management
  • Act as operational point of contact with senior officials including Royal Households, Foreign Office, Embassies etc
  • Identifying client requirements and drawing up initial proposals, working with specialist contractors on delivery, reviewing content of guest lists and oversee the arrangement of seating plans, taking into account the objectives of events and general considerations including the important of diversity
  • Represent the team at senior level meetings – high level stakeholder engagement

This is an important and high profile role, and requires an experienced and confident events candidate – with proven event delivery experience across a range of events, and of successfully dealing with high level and varied stakeholders.  An exceptional organiser, exemplary communicator and outstanding team player, you’ll set the highest standards in all you do.  Being calm and adaptable under pressure is of course vital. Leadership skills are also important as you will develop and manage your team of Event Co-ordinators and Assistants.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven track record of meticulous event delivery
  • Experience of delivering varied events – ideally including high level hospitality events, eg banquets, receptions etc – and working to varied clients/stakeholders to achieve their event objectives
  • Team leadership experience
  • An exceptional eye for detail, and understanding of delivering flawless events
  • Exemplary communication skills – written and oral
  • Confident, articulate, an excellent team player
