Leading body in the legal sector, events team of 9 who run a programme of international events – conferences, dinners, receptions – looking for a junior Organiser to join them!

This friendly and supportive events team deliver the busy international events programme for this very prestigious professional body within the legal sector.  Events are in Europe and North America – team of 9 - you'll be supported as you develop by the Senior Event Organisers - but will have the responsiblity for full end to end delivery of your own international events from the off.  This is a brilliant career opportunity for a developing events professional looking to work within international events in the professional sector.

As a junior Conference Organisor you’ll work on your own events – initially 5 of your own. And have full responsibility for all aspects – from the nitty gritty admin (speaker liaison, delegate reg and communication, on-site material prep eg badges) to all the big picture stuff – so researching and comparing venues, budgets, all event pre work and on-site delivery.  You’ll have a more experienced Organiser supporting you as you find your feet, and who’ll be with you on your first events as you build your confidence and experience.  Events are international – so you’ll enjoy travel! You’ll be the key contact for speakers and delegates (all from within the legal profession) with phone and email contact, and you’ll be working with the online registration system so you’ll need to be tech savvy, with good attention to detail, able to pull reports, check details and sort badges, materials, information etc for events.  You’ll liaise with speakers about their presentations, and their attendance at associated dinners etc.  This role would suit a hands-on Event Co-ordinator or Junior Event Manager ready and confident to take the next step – and who would enjoy working internationally within a professional sector.  Great opportunity to learn, develop and get international events experience with a talented and professional team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • End to end event management of international events
  • Speaker liaison and co-ordination and logistics
  • Speaker Presentation co-ordination, updating and uploading
  • Oversee conference registrations, produce reports, lists, dietry etc, set up and manage conference database
  • Co-ordinate signage and materials, and freight organising
  • Deal with specialist conference incoming phone calls and e-mails regarding registration queries and information.
  • Venue research and liason, supplier liaison, budget management
  • All event co-ordination and delivery on site

You’re a well presented, confident and articulate events professional – looking for the next step in your career.  You have excellent proven event admin skills, and experience of working on professional events, either within a corporate environment or professional body.  Excellent communication skills, with proven event co-ordination and delivery experience both pre and on-site are essential. You’ll need to be fairly tech savvy, and happy working with online systems.  Good team player, and prepared to work hard, and make the most of all the advantages of getting the exceptional international event experience that this role offers. Additional languages are useful if you have them, but not essential.

Key requirements:

  • 2nd jobber, 2-3 years events experience, ideally in professional business events for a corporate, or a professional body
  • Excellent communication skills, very organised, lots of common sense, good natural but professional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skills, ideally experience with online databases or similar, excellent attention to detail
  • Confident – enjoy dealing with speakers, professional delegates – both pre and on-site
  • Flexible, hardworking, team player
  • Languages useful
  • Experience dealing with all aspects of events – venues, budgets, 3rd party suppliers, logistics, speakers and delegates
