- The past few weeks have made it abundantly clear that the British economy, along with other economies in the developed west, is suffering one of its biggest shocks and upheavals in modern times. But what does this market turmoil actually mean for you and your current and future career aspirations?
The first thing to say is 'don't panic'. The boom and bust cycle is an unfortunate by-product of the free market system - what goes up must come down, after all - although it is important to recognise that it is a cycle, and that things will improve. Whether you are in a job but concerned about your company's stability, have been made redundant, or simply wanting to continue to progress your career and look around for new opportunities, the current market conditions will impose additional concerns that may well affect both your mood and your plans.
