HR Assistant – (International Expo Organiser)

Company:
This high profile event company deliver a world-renowned annual global exhibition, attended by an audience of thousands,  for the Broadcast and Media industry – and they are looking for an HR Assistant to join their busy HR team.

The Role:
Based in Central London, as HR Assistant you will be supporting the Head of HR and the HR Advisor to deliver first class service to the organisation.  You’ll be involved in all aspects of HR, from recruitment, to record management, inductions, leavers, learning and development and everything in between!  An excellent opportunity to develop your HR and Admin skills in a sociable, busy and exciting environment.  This immediate start role paying up to 22k, would be ideal for a first jobber/grad who has great customer service skills, some existing office and admin experience, and who is looking to build their career in an organisation that puts learning and development at the forefront.

Responsibilities include:

  • Recruitment co-ordination -  arranging interviews, liaising with line managers and candidates, drafting/overseeing contracts of employments, offer letters and other contractual paperwork
  • Co-ordinating inductions and leaver tasks
  • Maintaining HR records
  • Providing internal communication support on HR issues pertaining to - policy changes, bonuses and benefits etc
  • Staff development - coordinating training for staff and researching new training and development opportunities
  • Monitor sickness trends for reporting
  • Assist with HR projects where required
  • Ad-hoc HR and office support duties as required to support the HR Manager and Advisor

You:
You’ll be a bright, proactive individual with good communication skills, with some existing admin/office skills, and looking to take that first important role within an HR team.  If you’ve got some previous experience in recruitment that would be really useful, and you must be really looking to grow and learn in the right environment, a degree in HR or equivalent being advantageous. The client is really looking for someone who can communicate confidently and effectively across all levels whilst maintaining sensitivity, as at times you will be handling confidential information.  You will also be highly organised, efficient, professional and trustworthy, with excellent administrative skills.  Being a team player is a must – as working within an events-focussed environment needs a flexible, can-do and solution focussed personality!
Key requirements:

  • Degree in HR or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
  • Strong IT and social media skills (MS office, Linkedin)
  • Highly organised, efficient and professional with excellent administration skills
  • Well presented, reliable, able to handle sensitive/confidential matters, effective team player
  • Flexible and would enjoy working in a busy, events focussed organisation
  • An interest in developing a career in HR
