Brilliant role with international travel for a talented Event Operations Manager with experience in the full operational delivery of large scale luxury sector creative exhibitions & shows!
Fast moving, fast thinking and very vibrant media & events company who have grown from an ambitious start several years ago to a highly regarded company of 40 full time staff with a London HQ. They pride themselves on their agency thinking and creative flair and are considered thought leaders in their field for creating industry changing market-places and conferences for the luxury travel market.
This Event & Exhibition Operations Manager role (reporting directly to the Head of Operations) will see you take charge of the end-to-end logistics of two large-scale luxury travel sector show events both of which will take place overseas. You’ll manage a small team of ops execs and assistants and will also work closely with the marketing, creative, sales and production teams.
The events are B2B trade shows but very high-end, different from the norm and very innovative and creative. These usually last 3-4 days, have an exhibition floor of between 300-500 stands as well as various innovation zones and overall they attract around 500 global delegates for a very be-spoke programme of one2one meetings with key buyers/decision makers, forums, conferences (with a twist!), unique social events/experiences and luxury networking events.
This is a mixed role of event/show logistics, operations, exhibition floor plans, exhibitor liaison, delegate / guest management, site visits, organisation of dinners/lunches/off-sites/social events, H&S and risk assessments, security, first-aid, working with local suppliers & DMCs, equipment, branding, theming, décor design & mood boards, on-site staffing & hostesses, site visits, set-up & de-rig, on-site event management, budget & financial management, post event reporting, reconciliation and evaluation.
This role will involve a considerable amount of travel.
This company are looking for a creatively driven event operations professional with a minimum of 3-4 years’ solid experience in the operational delivery of large-scale international exhibitions, events, expos, shows, festivals, Frieze Art Fairs etc...
You’re very likely to come from the creative show “space” – possibly film, media, fashion or music – and be looking for an exciting opportunity in a dynamic sector to showcase your creativity and innovation, as well as your strong organisational, logistics and operational delivery skills.
You’ll need to be a good events all-rounder with great logistics and operational skills, strong H&S knowledge and experience of working on exhibition floorplans with CAD software ideally.
You’ll need to enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic and forward-thinking environment and should be a confident, flexible and adaptable team player who has a creative leaning but is also a real solutions-focused / operational delivery / get things done type of person.
From a personality point of view, you’ll need to be fun, enthusiastic and very high-end customer service orientated as well as being patient, incredibly organised, detailed and calm under pressure.
French language skills useful but not essential and staff management experience would be advantageous but again not vital.
You must however be willing to travel for your job and although you don’t necessarily need a travel background you should have an appreciation, understanding or passion for the luxury travel sector.
