Exciting permanent Event Manager job working for a hugely popular London visitor attraction & venue!
Well known venue & iconic visitor attraction bang in the heart of central London popular with foodies and lovers of artisan food & drink. This is a bustling, vibrant and unique venue with various indoor and outdoor spaces offering both free and ticketed public/community and street festival based events as well as being available to hire for commercial, corporate and business events, film & photo shoots and one off celebratory events.
Reporting to the Head of Events, this Event Manager role will see you working on a range of internal & external events at this iconic attraction & commercial venue that is supported and funded by a charitable trust. This is a dual role where you'll be developing and delivering the venue's own public and community based events including festivals, shows, promotions, food tastings & interactive cooking demos as well as working in a venue-side capacity (venue hire enquiries, bookings, operational planning & on-site event management) with external event managers from corporate companies, commercial businesses, event agencies and film & production companies who want to hire the venue for their own events, meetings or film and photo shoots and as a growing part of the business, with private individuals for dinners, weddings and one off celebratory events.
This role will involve some evening and very occasional weekend work.
Key responsibilities will include:-
You'll have a minimum of 2 years' events & hospitality/catering related experience ideally gained from working venue-side. You'll have a solid understanding of all that working in a venue on a range of events entails (including event operations, reactive sales, show rounds & site visits, managing the venue hire booking system, contracts, licences & venue hire documentation, supplier management, internal & external stakeholder liaison, H&S, budgeting & financial admin, client & external organiser liaison, set-up & de-rig, on-site event management and post event reconciliation) as well as experience in assisting on the development of new event ideas and project managing them through to successful delivery (in particular public & community events).
An interest in food and quality fresh produce would be very advantageous and from a personality point of view you'll need to be a confident and out-going self-starter who is also a strong team-player. You must have really good communication & interpersonal skills, a proactive and flexible approach and a genuine can-do attitude.
