Looking for a long contract to get your teeth into?  Great opportunity in established events Agency – it really is a great place to work!  Bring your natural client relationship skills and your love of events to lead your own team to develop and deliver great and varied corporate events for a lovely mix of existing clients.

THE COMPANY
An established medium size agency with a great team of creative and sociable professionals who take huge pride in the creation and delivery of live events and brand experiences, for their exciting client portfolio - which includes some of the world’s best known brands.  They work across the full range of live communications, including but not limited to conferences, incentives and awards, always with a clear and strategic focus on the overall achievement of the client’s key communications objectives.

THE ROLE
This is a mat cover role – so you’ll be stepping in to look after an established team of Account Managers and Execs, and some really good clients, with existing projects on the books.  You’ll be managing your own major clients as well as overseeing your Account Managers and their varied clients (from telecoms to travel and financial))– you’ll work closely with your clients to develop and deliver a range of brand experience, live event and communications projects.  Keeping your client relationships fresh, invigorated – and growing!

Key Responsibilities:
You’ll head up your own team to manage and develop strategic relationships with key clients, with a focus on:

  • Developing and strengthening your Agency’s proposition to seek out new opportunities within your team’s clients
  • Day to day management of project team, ensuring successful delivery of projects (live events, incentives, awards, communications)  in terms of strategic objections as well as operational excellence – and profit attainment 
  • Ensure the excellent delivery of all event and communications projects
  • Brief and manage internal and external teams – across all areas of Creative, Logistics, Production
  • Host weekly Project Team Meetings
  • Ensure workload and availability of team is managed effectively (in liaison with Head of Operations)
  • Line manage your team of SAM, AM and exec – and oversee the development of their accounts
  • Team recruitment, appraisals including goal setting and workload management

THE CANDIDATE
Above all I’m looking for someone with an excellent track record within the agency events world – with great account management skills, who loves developing close relationships with your clients and understanding of their business – and loves mentoring others. You’ll have great team leadership skills, with line management experience.  You’ll have (of course) proven experience of working on a varied range of events for corporate clients, and ideally have developed your craft within a similar agency.  You’ll be strong on getting under the skin of the wider strategic and communications objectives, as well as understanding the nuts and bolts of delivering good projects.  You’re used to dealing with senior stakeholders, and enjoy working collaboratively.

Key requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of running all types of events (conferences, incentives, awards etc)
  • Minimum 2 years proven experience in an Account Management role, with proven record in live communications solutions.
  • Agency experience, working with varied corporate clients
  • Proven experience of developing client relationships and business
  • Excellent communicator and team leader
  • Proven ability to control large and logistically complicated event projects and budgets
  • Excellent attention to detail with an organised and methodical approach
  • A great, hands-on events professional
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
  • Confident, with drive and tenacity
  • Honest team player with good sense of humour
