Job Description

Are you a French-speaking Senior Event Manager, Scotland-based, with a great knowledge of Scottish destinations and activities?  Fab role taking team lead at Edinburgh office of a fun and funky events company, whose main clients are French corporates looking for inbound event services.

Small, bright and upbeat agency with a thriving Scottish office which provides Destination Management and Special Event Services for international incentive and corporate meetings in the UK, with a specialism for French clients. They offer a full end to end service providing bespoke event solutions for groups from 10 to 1,500, with a fabulous client list which includes some great brands from beauty, to finance to automotive.  They have a London office, and a smaller Scottish based team – and this role would be the lead role in the Scottish office looking after the Scottish programmes.

As Senior Project Manager you’ll lead on all the Scotland destination programmes for the agency.  Reporting into the London-based General manager with support staff in the Edinburgh and London Offices, you will be instrumental in continuing the positive development of Edinburgh business through creating and executing exciting programmes in one of the UK’s most visited tourist destinations.  Your role will be across Client Management, Team/Resourcing Management (team of 2), and Project Management – so a really great varied role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Client Management  - leading client contact, challenging and interpreting client brief, managing and maintaining client relationships
  • Team Management – overseeing all on-going projects, supporting Project Managers and Intern, training new recruits, weekly reporting to GM
  • Project management – responsible at a senior level for delivery of projects on time and within budget
  • Ownership of enquiries from initial inception through to completion, creation of bespoke and tailored programmes, organising and visiting of prospective sites with clients
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships
  • Monitoring budget and client spend
  • Event management onsite on behalf of client and company
  • Develop the company database with new venues, attractions, dining and accommodation prospects
  • Develop new client relationships

You’ll be a French/English speaker, who ideally has minimum 5 years relevant experience with management responsibilities, in project management in the hospitality/tourism sector in either DMC, events, travel/tourism.  You will have great knowledge of Scotland as a tourist destination with an established network of supplier contacts, and hands-on delivery experience of varied events, incentives, conferences etc.   You’ll have a very positive personality, excellent planning and logistics ability with a hands-on and practical approach to your work.  You’ll have proven team leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills, highly organised, detailed and be a natural and service-focussed client handler, with proven experience of dealing with varied event suppliers, venues, hotels, travel – a candidate who would relish the opportunity to take a team lead role!
