EVENT CO-ORDINATOR - LEADING CHARITY
Job description:
The special events team of this leading charity are looking for an experienced event co-ordinator with to organise high profile gala fundraising events.
This busy team are responsible for a range of prestigious, exclusive and quality events. They work closely with volunteer committees, so the successful candidate must be adept at ensuring continued good relationships with committee members.
Reporting to the event manager, you will take lead responsibility for one or more gala events and key support role in others. This lead responsibility includes all aspects of event management and production, including venue research, negotiation with suppliers, design briefing , budget management, and liaison with the event committee. These high profile events are executed to the highest standards, despite limited budgets, therefore a creative flair and good negotiation skills are critical. You will also be responsible for the research and creation of new events, and managing ad hoc events that arise, including film premieres, specialist auctions etc. Researching and securing sponsorship and working closely with the pr team are all elements of the role.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate clearly on their CV:
- experience of planning and organising of gala events
- experience of working with committees
- creative thinking and ability to generate new fundraising ideas
- experience of attracting and working with corporate sponsors
- budget management and supplier negotiation
- Raisers Edge desirable
- Experience of working in the voluntary/charity sector and working with volunteers highly desirable
